teaches Simulating simple rules in your head: how local rules make global patterns
A night garden that runs on Conway's Life: a cell is born with exactly three neighbors and survives with two or three. Flowers mark cells that must be alive after exactly N nights; thorns mark cells that must be dark. You get a handful of seeds. Place them, press Grow, and watch the pattern evolve night by night. Every puzzle is built from a real solution, so it can be done, but you have to run the rules in your head to find it.
