teaches Cryptanalysis: frequency analysis, cribs, and why a shift cipher has only one unknown
Messages arrive scrambled. First a plain shift, then a keyword alphabet, then a fully random one, and finally a two-key Vigenere where every other letter uses a different shift. Tap a cipher letter, tell the desk what it stands for, and watch the message resolve. The frequency chart and a known word are your only tools. Faster is better; a hint costs.
