teaches Planning on a network: chokepoints, containment, and thinking two spreads ahead
Slime is spreading along the garden paths. Each turn you fence one plot, then the slime jumps to every unfenced neighbor. It stops when it runs out of places to go. Cut the chokepoints early, never waste a fence on a plot that is already lost, and beat par on eight gardens that get bigger and more tangled. This is the firefighter problem from graph theory, and there is no formula for it, only judgment.
